These that remain standing.
After a disastrous blast wrecking innocent souls on August the 4th, the only area to remain functional in the Beirut Port is Bay 12. It dodged the deadly blast, holding within it the lives lost, clutching onto what was left in them from optimism and faith in their own country and daring its survivors to rise so that the memory of Beirut is kept alive. I remember the hundred of crates that were flaunting in color showing off the flamboyant lives of the Lebanese; they're now burnt into ashes along these same lives. The white grain silos that had been standing since the 60s, completely demolished, were the cherry on top for the Lebanese, leaving them with even less sources of food amidst the economic crisis that has been affecting us for 2 years now. This canvas is home to what's left of Beirut, even though Bay 12 is at risk of collapsing; it's a reminder that with strength and resistance come the tranquil and trouble-free days.
